Patient's question:
Duration of illness and persistence: Nearly a yearDetailed condition and consultation purpose: Which Chinese herbal medicines can supplement estrogen without causing side effects;
Besides soybeans, what other vegetables are easily digestible and absorbable?
Follow-up to the first question: My symptoms mainly include reduced menstrual flow after an abortion, early menstruation by 5 to 7 days, symptoms similar to a cold, headaches, body aches, and fatigue. Taking cold medicine can alleviate some of these symptoms. During menstruation, I experience lower abdominal pain radiating to the waist, which is relieved by resting in bed.
If menstruation is irregular and I want to have a baby, what should I do?
Doctor's answer:
Hello: Estrogen is the sex hormone secreted by the ovaries. Currently, the commonly used clinical preparations are fully synthetic non-steroidal agents—ethinyl estradiol, also known as mestranol, which has estrogenic effects. There is also a partially synthetic estrogen—ethinyl estradiol, also known as ethinyl estradiol, which is currently mostly used in birth control pills. In clinical treatment of infertility, ethinyl estradiol is often selected. The dosage is to take 0.5–1 milligram per night starting from the 5th day of the menstrual cycle, and continue for 20–22 days. When female ovarian function is low and estrogen secretion is insufficient, ethinyl estradiol is often used as a replacement therapy. Additionally, due to the effect of positive feedback, ethinyl estradiol can promote the peak of gonadotropin and thus promote ovulation. Therefore, it can be used for conditions such as underdeveloped secondary sexual characteristics, small breasts, low estrogen secretion levels, decreased sexual function, uterine maldevelopment, menstrual disorders, amenorrhea, and dysmenorrhea. Functional dysmenorrhea can also be treated with ethinyl estradiol for hemostasis when bleeding is heavy. The dosage is: ethinyl estradiol is taken orally at 1–2 milligrams every 8 hours. When bleeding decreases by half, the dosage is reduced and a gradual tapering method is used, with a final maintenance dose of 1 milligram per day taken once daily. The total duration of treatment is 22 days starting from the day bleeding decreases. For men with hypersexuality or those prone to sexual impulses due to prostate lesions, ethinyl estradiol can be used to counteract androgens. The dosage is 1 milligram per day for 20 days. The side effects of ethinyl estradiol include nausea and vomiting, which can be alleviated by taking vitamin B6 appropriately. When the dosage of ethinyl estradiol is increased...
