Did I get pregnant after not having my period for a month?

Patient's question:

Did she not have her period for a whole month? Is it possible she's pregnant? If so, what measures can be taken? Are there any birth control pills for this?
First follow-up question: Can an early pregnancy test detect it in a month? She's only 18. Is it possible her period is irregular?
Second follow-up question: She has had a history of missed periods before. She's only 18. Is it possible for her period to be delayed by a month?

Doctor's answer:

If your period hasn't arrived when it was supposed to and you haven't had it for more than 7-10 days, you should consider pregnancy. Pregnancy test strips are a convenient product designed for women to check if they are pregnant. After a woman is fertilized, the trophoblast cells of the placenta begin to secrete human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), which is a glycoprotein hormone produced by the placenta in pregnant women and is present in large quantities in their urine. In non-pregnant women's urine, HCG is almost non-existent. If the test shows two red lines, it indicates a positive result, suggesting the possibility of pregnancy. However, 7 days after intercourse, you can also go to the hospital for a blood HCG test. If the test is negative or inconclusive, you will need to repeat the early pregnancy test after another 7 days. It is best to use morning urine for the test.
