This book is the teacher's edition for "College English" (New Edition), "Comprehensive Course" (Preparatory Level), and is intended for reference by teachers. Based on the student's edition of "College English (New Edition), Comprehensive Course" (Preparatory Level), this book is divided into eight units, each containing two main parts.
The first part focuses on the main text, Text A. It first provides the reference translation of the text, followed by detailed annotations on some key and difficult language phenomena in the text. The annotations primarily offer definitions, collocations, and word formation of relevant words, while also appropriately providing synonyms, antonyms, and other information. Additionally, a small number of exercises for distinguishing synonyms are included. These materials are for teachers' reference in teaching and do not intend to encourage teachers to "teach vocabulary excessively" in the classroom. After the text annotations, the authors provide some communicative teaching activities related to the unit's theme.
The second part of each unit focuses on the supplementary text, Text B. It mainly provides the reference translation of the text and the answers to related exercises. This book does not provide answers to open-ended questions, and teachers may appropriately evaluate students' exercise results based on actual teaching situations.
