Patient's question:
Condition Description: The right renal pelvis of the fetus is slightly separated. The anteroposterior diameter is about 0.6 cm. Is it serious? Thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!History of Treatment and Effect: No treatment has been administered.
Desired Help: Please help me determine if it is serious!
Doctor's answer:
Hello: The collecting system of a normal fetal kidney may have mild separation, with a separation diameter reaching up to 6 millimeters, generally not exceeding 10 millimeters. This does not meet the criteria for diagnosing hydronephrosis. During pregnancy, the examination of the fetal urinary system is somewhat limited. Currently, it cannot be determined whether the widened renal pelvis of your fetus will cause any impact or what kind of impact it may have on the baby after birth. Some fetuses with mild renal pelvis widening may gradually resolve during follow-up after birth, and it does not adversely affect the child's normal life or growth and development. We recommend that you continue with follow-up examinations.
