Is there a problem if menstruation keeps going on?

Patient's question:

Over a month ago, I felt discomfort in my lower body and went to the hospital. They said it was a fungal vaginal infection and treated it.

Doctor's answer:

Candidal vulvovaginitis (also known as candidal vaginitis) primarily presents with symptoms such as external genital itching, burning pain, cottage cheese-like discharge, or creamy curd-like vaginal discharge that is significantly increased in amount. It is recommended to rinse the external genital area and vagina with an alkaline solution, such as a 2% to 4% sodium bicarbonate solution or soapy water, to alter the vaginal pH and create an environment unfavorable for fungal growth. After rinsing, insert Nystatin tablets or Daktarine suppositories into the vagina, with a dosage of 100,000 to 200,000 units each time, once daily, for a 14-day course. Additionally, applying 3% miconazole cream or Prazosin cream to the external genital area can enhance the effectiveness.
