Features: Important figures are often accompanied by strange natural phenomena at birth, just like celebrities who are instantly surrounded by a spotlight when they appear. Cheng Yaojin was born in winter. According to insiders, it was quite cold that day, and the sun was rising from the east. If there has ever been an online novel that imagined itself winning the "coward award," it would be this one. I believe this book can be surpassed, but that will have to wait until I write another one. The hype is over. Welcome to read Feng Liu. — Hu Mingwei
Throughout the entire process of reading Feng Liu, I encountered many highly evocative sentences, as well as some storylines with dark humor that captivated me. An element called "imagination" kept luring me forward blindly. — Gong Xiaobing
Feng Liu is a postmodern version of Romance of the Sui and Tang Dynasties, with Cheng Yaojin as the protagonist. During his birth and upbringing, Yang Jian unified China, and Yang Guang became crown prince through deceitful means. Cheng Yaojin was unruly by nature, uninterested in textbooks printed with manure juice, and hung out with salt smugglers. After Yang Lin crushed the salt smuggling ring, Cheng Yaojin returned home to become a lazy inventor and accidentally killed his father. During a soccer match against Japan's "Steal Steal" team, Cheng Yaojin became a national hero and met Qin Shubao, Li Shimin, Xu Maogong, Yang Xuangan, Li Mi, Luo Cheng, and others. Yang Lin's daughter, Yang Aicheng, wanted to take Cheng Yaojin as her master, but Cheng refused. He stayed home and invented a mousetrap, which inadvertently saved Eastern civilization from the medieval plague of rodents. After Yang Jian's wife died, he began to favor Chen Lady. Yang Guang loved Chen Lady but also hoped to reform politics and become a historic figure, so he launched a palace coup and confessed his one-sided love to her. After ascending the throne, Yang Guang implemented the "New Policies," encouraging invention and developing the economy. Cheng Yaojin became the head of the Science and Technology Bureau, inventing gunpowder and the "Short Information System," but was sentenced to prison for capturing a Japanese spy, Hatakeyama. On a whim, Yang Guang released Cheng Yaojin and sent him to Chang'an University to study. Chang'an University was full of arrogance, entitlement, and pretentiousness, and its soccer team was a club for high-ranking officials' children. The team captain, Yang Xuangan, was the son of the current prime minister, Yang Su, a man who was generous but uneducated and obsessed with pursuing the popular singer Li Xiaoshi. Xu Maogong's father, Xu Jinzhu, created "Brain Gold," becoming the richest man in the Great Sui Dynasty. When Yang Guang visited in disguise, he noticed Xu Jinzhu's fame and ordered Yang Su to eliminate him. Chang'an suffered a sandstorm due to large-scale construction, and Yang Guang believed it was divine punishment for his secret crush on Li Xiaoshi, so he decided to move the capital to Luoyang. Luoyang University seized the opportunity to merge with Chang'an University. Yang Guang wanted to see Chen Lady, who was resting in the south, and ordered the excavation of the Grand Canal. Cheng Yaojin's friend, You Junda, had his company seized by corrupt officials, so Cheng returned to Jinan, and the two led a group to rob the "King's Beam," unexpectedly capturing Yang Aicheng and learning about her background. Yang Aicheng and Cheng Yaojin married. The young constable Qin Shubao had no hope for promotion and was forced by Cheng Yaojin to rebel. Everyone joined the Wazhang Camp under Zhai Rang. Yang Xuangan, in pursuit of Li Xiaoshi, rebelled in Chang'an but was defeated and killed. Xu Maogong, Luo Cheng, Li Mi, and others fled to the Wazhang Camp, where Cheng Yaojin was elected "president." The world fell into chaos. Wang Shichong, Dou Jiande, and Li Yuan successively rebelled, and Yang Guang was killed by Yuwen Jie. Li Mi was elected president and then restored imperial rule. Li Mi failed to eliminate Cheng Yaojin with the Sui army and later joined Li Jiancheng and his brothers in Chang'an. Li Mi was defeated, and the Wazhang Camp soldiers came to Chang'an. Li Shimin pacified the world, launched the "Xuanwu Gate Incident," ascended the throne, and pardoned Li Jing, Cheng Yaojin, and Wei Zheng. Cheng Yaojin was ordered to campaign westward, conquer the Western Regions, but was framed by Xu Maogong and imprisoned. The asthmatic Li Shimin, under pressure from all sides, released Cheng Yaojin. Cheng Yaojin and Yang Aicheng fled far away, never to be heard from again.
