Features: "Newly Compiled Undergraduate Russian" is a key project under the Beijing Higher Education "Exquisite Textbook Project." The first four volumes of this textbook, along with accompanying audio cassettes, have all been published. To facilitate the use of this series by teachers, students, and the general public, the project team has compiled the "Teaching and Learning" teaching reference book for this textbook series. It is called a "Teaching and Learning" reference book because it is not only suitable for college professors teaching Russian and students learning Russian but also meets the needs of self-learners from all walks of life to study Russian. The reference book is divided into two parts: the "Combined Volume of the First and Second Books" is used with the first and second volumes of "Newly Compiled Undergraduate Russian," and the "Combined Volume of the Third and Fourth Books" is used with the third and fourth volumes of "Newly Compiled Undergraduate Russian." Each volume of the "Teaching and Learning" reference book includes 24 lessons. Each lesson contains an "Introduction," "Text Explanation," "Vocabulary Work," "Translation of Text I," "Answers to After-Class Exercises," "Answers to Grammar Exercises," and "Supplementary Exercises." The "Introduction" guides students to naturally enter the learning of the new lesson. The "Text Explanation" helps students correctly understand the text content and overcome potential difficulties in comprehension. This section focuses on explaining the linguistic difficulties in the text, as well as the sociocultural knowledge, social, historical, and cultural background related to the language. The "Vocabulary Work" expands on the "Active Vocabulary Explanation" in the textbook, providing appropriate explanations of the differences between commonly used and easily confused words, followed by targeted exercises. The "Translation of Text I," "Answers to After-Class Exercises," and "Answers to Grammar Exercises" not only provide convenience for teachers using this textbook series but also allow students and self-learners to check their understanding of the text, verify vocabulary, and confirm whether their grammar exercises are correct. The "Supplementary Exercises" provide more linguistic materials for teachers and students to choose from for use.
