Features: To be honest, the title of this little book, "A Study of Beijing Dialect's Erhua Words," is not entirely appropriate, as it might be misunderstood as a comprehensive study of Beijing dialect's erhua words. According to some experts' opinions, the title should highlight the sociolinguistic perspective and analytical methods. So, calling it "A Sociolinguistic Study of Beijing Dialect's Erhua Words" might be better, at least it can avoid some misunderstandings. However, when the thesis was defended, the title was already set this way, and there have been no major adjustments for this publication, so the title does not need to be changed....... Beijing dialect's erhua words are a linguistic phenomenon that emerged during the modern Chinese language period and are highly typical in the erhua phenomenon of modern Northern Chinese. At the current stage, erhua words in Beijing dialect are not only a lexical phenomenon of the Beijing dialect but also have a reason to be regarded as a linguistic item in the common language of the Chinese nation.......
