Features: Zhuangzi is one of the most important thinkers who laid the foundation for the pure artistic spirit of China, and Heidegger is the most influential philosopher of 20th-century Western philosophy and poetics. In the context of comprehensive "globalization," and in the effort to "reconstruct the discourse of Chinese literary theory," a comparative study of their poetics is a highly meaningful topic. Currently, research in this area is far from sufficient relative to its importance. This book attempts to systematically clarify and conduct an in-depth comparison of the factual and theoretical connections, as well as the consistencies and differences, between Heidegger's poetics and Zhuangzi's poetics, based on the method of "cross-cultural dialogue" in comparative poetics. It has drawn four innovative conclusions. This systematic clarification and comparison is a first in the academic circles of mainland China.
