Features: The articles collected in this book cover a wide range of topics, and it is naturally impossible for all of them to be included in General Theory of Local Gazetteers. Moreover, each piece has its own theme or central argument. The Glimpsed Records and book reviews do not only discuss a single gazetteer but also address common issues in the process of compiling gazetteers. Although all the discussions are about local gazetteers, the situations are clearly different. To express gratitude to the friends in the field of local gazetteers and meet their requests, I have compiled and published this collection of methodological articles written over the years. During the selection process, I have tried to ensure that the content of the book is systematic and complete, so that despite being a collection of articles, it still has a sense of unity. However, there is one point that needs to be clarified: some articles contain certain repetitive content in their discussions. This is unavoidable because each article is written independently to ensure its own coherence from beginning to end. This book is a collection of papers by Professor Cang Xiuliang of Zhejiang University on the study of local gazetteers, covering theories of local gazetteers, the compilation of gazetteers, and reviews of newly compiled gazetteers in recent years. The content is rich and provides a relatively practical reference for professionals in related fields.
