Features: With the development of criminal rule of law, how China's criminal law theory adapts to the practical needs of rule of law construction and enhances the academic level of criminal law has become a major issue facing the criminal law academic community. In this context, the Criminal Law Library was officially launched with a strong sense of mission. The Criminal Law Library is organized by the Institute of Criminal Law Theory at Peking University, and I served as the chief editor. Here, some necessary explanations need to be made regarding the writing of this book. This book reflects my thoughts and perspectives on the transformation of China's criminal procedure mechanism over the past five years. Some chapters have already been published, but most are newly written. Moreover, due to the rapid development of criminal procedure research in China, my understanding of foreign academic research, as well as the legislative and judicial status of criminal procedure, has become more comprehensive and in-depth. Additionally, the actual implementation of criminal judicial reform in China has had a profound impact on my views, leading to significant changes in some of my opinions. Therefore, to ensure the autonomy of the theoretical content throughout the book and objectively reflect my current understanding, I have made substantial revisions and adjustments to some of the previously published material. As a result, the entire writing process took a long time and required a great deal of effort.
