Features: Good case-based teaching has two key elements: having good cases and organizing the teaching process well. The 15 cases in this collection were all selected and used by the editor during teaching and have achieved relatively satisfactory results. Two of them are based on American cases and have been appropriately modified to be shorter and easier to understand. Five of them were co-authored by Professor Li Hongyu during his tenure at NUS in Singapore with Professor Xu Hanrui. The remaining eight are based on Chinese enterprises. Each case has a strong focus, prepared to complement a specific chapter of the textbook. To organize case-based teaching well, the editor must have a thorough understanding of the types and characteristics of the cases. Some cases emphasize qualitative analysis, while others focus on quantitative analysis. Some are descriptive, some are decision-oriented, and some are hybrid. For qualitative analysis cases, the focus is on training students' basic concepts and developing their operational management calculation skills. Operational management practice is full of quantitative decision-making problems, and appropriate case analysis can help improve students' understanding of this course and their practical skills. The cases described in this book are relatively long, with the characteristic that the answers can basically be found within the case, so students need to read carefully and thoroughly understand the things described in the case to achieve good results. For decision-oriented cases, only background information is provided, requiring students to fully understand the background information, apply relevant knowledge, and use their imagination and creativity to propose their own unique insights.
