Features: This textbook covers the experimental parts of the three major functional disciplines in basic medicine and is currently a systematic, comprehensive, complete, and richly contented experimental textbook for functional studies. The textbook maintains the original characteristics of functional discipline experiments, where experiments focus on living organisms or tissues and organs as research subjects, and on this basis, study various physiological activities, their patterns, pathological physiological changes, and the interactions between drugs and organisms as well as their patterns. At the same time, the textbook highlights the reform of traditional experimental methods and teaching methods, combining the laboratory conditions of our school to apply advanced experimental equipment as much as possible for teaching. It strives to observe physiological phenomena, pathological physiological changes, and the therapeutic effects of drugs on these changes on the same animal, enabling students to improve their comprehensive abilities through systematic analysis from normal to abnormal and back to normal. The teaching practice over the past two years has laid a solid foundation for the revision of this textbook. The second edition emphasizes the content with high experimental success rates, high teaching usage frequency, and good teaching effects, whileing some experiments and instrument introduction content with lower usage rates. Additionally, it supplements some experimental content and instrument introduction based on the changing laboratory conditions and adds basic knowledge of biostatistics commonly used in functional experiments.
