How to treat kidney disease during pregnancy

Patient's question:

I am very scared when this happens. I often have lower abdominal pain and don't know how to solve it, so I came here to consult. How should gestational kidney disease be treated?

Doctor's answer:

In your case, it may be glomerulonephritis. Glomerulonephritis is a non-suppurative inflammatory lesion of both kidneys. Due to damage to the glomeruli, symptoms such as edema, high blood pressure, and proteinuria may occur. It is the most common type of kidney disease.
There are many types of nephritis, including: acute (glomerular) nephritis, chronic (glomerular) nephritis, pyelonephritis, occult nephritis, allergic purpura nephritis (purpura nephritis), and lupus nephritis (lupus nephritis).
For lupus nephritis, it is recommended to first undergo a kidney biopsy for diagnosis and then receive symptomatic treatment.
