How to take birth control pills

Patient's question:

The method of taking ethinylestradiol and norethisterone tablets

Doctor's answer:

1. Starting from the day of menstruation, take one tablet after lunch on the 5th day. Take the second tablet after an interval of 20 days, or take one tablet on the 5th and 10th day of menstruation. Afterward, take one tablet monthly on the date of the second tablet. Generally, withdrawal bleeding occurs 6 to 12 days after taking the medication.
2. When switching from short-acting oral contraceptives to long-acting contraceptives, take one long-acting tablet the day after finishing 22 short-acting tablets. Thereafter, take one tablet monthly on the same date as the start of long-acting contraceptive use.
