Doctor's answer:

Disease Analysis: Hello: Endometritis is one of the pelvic androgenic organ inflammations and a common disease among women. The inflammation can be limited to one area or affect multiple areas simultaneously. Clinically, the latter is more common. Acute inflammation may lead to serious consequences such as diffuse peritonitis, sepsis, and septic shock.
Guidance:
(1) Rest in bed: Adopt a semi-recumbent position to facilitate the outflow of uterine secretions. Diet should consist of easily digestible, high-calorie semi-liquid meals. Maintain bowel regularity. Apply cold compresses to the lower abdomen or use hot compresses with hot water bags, fried salt, or Chinese herbal medicine (e.g., Kali Sand).
(2) Control infection: Generally, penicillin (4 million to 8 million U) is administered intravenously daily. Gentamicin (240,000 U) is also given intravenously daily. This should continue until symptoms completely disappear, after which it can be switched to intramuscular injections for about one week, followed by discontinuation. Simultaneously, metronidazole (0.4 g) can be taken orally three times a day. Alternatively, a potent antibiotic should be selected based on symptoms, secretion characteristics, bacterial culture, and drug sensitivity.
(3) Symptomatic treatment: Oral administration of ergot tincture (2 ml) or leonurus tincture (4 ml) three times a day for three days to promote uterine contraction and the discharge of infectious endometrial secretions. Patients with high fever should receive fluid supplementation.
