Is there an error in the transvaginal ultrasound during menstruation for tubal hydrops?

Patient's question:

Hello, I had a transvaginal ultrasound during my menstrual period. The results showed a 3.2x0.9cm tubular liquid area in the right adnexal region, with smooth boundaries and no blood flow signals inside. Is it possible that it's hydrosalpinx?

Doctor's answer:

Due to the fact that the dilated and undilated parts of the fallopian tube can still be connected when there is hydrosalpinx, patients often experience intermittent vaginal discharge. Infertility is often the only manifestation of fallopian tube hydrosalpinx. Fallopian tube obstruction is a major cause of female infertility, and its inflammatory causes are based on inflammation. Its formation can be caused by incomplete treatment or delayed treatment of acute salpingitis, leading to adhesion of the fallopian tube mucosa. This may be due to incomplete abortion, retained placenta causing inflammation, or in some cases, chronic salpingitis secondary to the use of an intrauterine device.
