The motility rate of sperm in the culture medium of hydrosalpinx is lower than that in the culture medium of normal fallopian tubes. Hydrosalpinx may alter sperm capacitation/acrosome reaction and/or ligand-receptor reaction, thereby inhibiting the fertilization process.
