Features: In "The Cause of the Continuation of the Collected Works of Hua Gai," Lu Xun said, "I have only written about the past or a certain period, but I still fear that what I have seen is not the precursor of modern times, but rather its aftermath, or even twenty or thirty years later." Therefore, when chatting with American journalist Edgar Snow, Mr. Lu Xun smiled and said, "Aq is now in power." Renowned critic Peng Ding'an discussed the destructive nature of the "Aq-style 'revolution'" in "Towards the World of Lu Xun" and said, "During the ten years of chaos, there were also 'Aq-style' elements." Thus, the author wrote this novel to show how this "national spirit" has continued and developed. This is explained in the "Writing Origin" section of the book. The "Continuation" does not let Aq die; instead, it allows this inferior character to continue along its original path, evolving until today. The truth within the absurd is quite interesting. Among the author's ten or so published long novels, in terms of literary taste, this one is considered one of the higher ones.
