Features: This book organizes and conducts an in-depth study of the metal currency during the Eastern Zhou period of China, following the chronological order and types of currency. It extensively utilizes materials and research findings from disciplines such as paleography, archaeology, history, and geography. By employing data from unearthed currencies, it offers new insights in areas such as the interpretation of currency inscriptions, determination of national origins, geographical, and the authentication of coins. For example, it interprets the characters "" and "" on the Kongshou Bu, and the variant "" on the Fangzu Xiaobu. It proposes that four types of "Liangzong" bridge-shaped coins were cast no earlier than 286 BC, and for the first time, it explains the addition of the character "" on the backs of some bridge-shaped coins such as "Anyi Er" and "Liangzong Wushi Dang Xun." It also raises doubts about the authenticity of certain bridge-shaped coins and argues for the origin of the Jiaoshen Kongshou Bu, as well as the formative relationship between round-fooled and square-fooled Xiaobu. Many of its opinions have been accepted by the academic community. This is a specialized work that reflects the current level and status of Eastern Zhou currency research.
