Features: This book is one of the newly compiled accounting series textbooks for the Adult Education College of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. It is based on the original textbooks with corresponding adjustments and incorporates additional new content and examples to facilitate students' better learning and understanding. The book is divided into seven chapters. Chapter 1: Introduction to Accounting Information Systems, primarily introduces accounting as a financial information system and also as a most critical subsystem within the entire enterprise management information system. Accounting information has its own characteristics, functions, processing processes, and methods, and the operation of an accounting information system must align with its inherent characteristics. Chapter 2: Development Tools for Accounting Information Systems, primarily introduces the system platforms currently used in the development and application of accounting information systems, such as the Windows operating system, network operating technologies, and the Internet, as well as visual databases (VisualFoxpro). Chapter 3: Development Methods for Accounting Information Systems, primarily introduces the general methods of software engineering for developing accounting information systems, and combines accounting examples to explain the entire process and the results of each stage of the development method of the life cycle approach. Chapter 4: Design Examples of Accounting Information Systems, takes the YouYuan Financial Software as an example to introduce the usage process of an existing financial software. Chapter 5: Excel and the Generation of Accounting Reports, primarily introduces the principles of electronic spreadsheet software Excel and the preparation of accounting reports, how to use Excel to generate accounting tables, and how to import stored data into Excel through an ODBC data source for various data analyses. Chapter 6: Internal Control and Computer Auditing in Accounting Information Systems, primarily introduces the objectives, roles, characteristics, and content of internal control in a computer environment, as well as the concepts, elements, and methods of computer auditing. Chapter 7: Hands-on Experiments, through a series of examples, enables students to learn the various operations covered in this book, including basic operations of VisualFoxPro, basic operations of Excel, and basic operations of YouYuan Financial Software. Through more than ten years of teaching practice in accounting computerization, we believe that the structural arrangement of this book is relatively reasonable and meets the teaching requirements of accounting computerization.
