Patient's question:
Symptoms of hydrosalpinx, I want to know what causes hydrosalpinx, why does this condition occur? I don't have any discomfort, but I want to get pregnant, but I don't know what's going on. I have never breastfed before, and I will never get pregnant. Then I had a thorough examination and was told that I have hydrosalpinx. Now what should I do? Are there any symptoms? What is the cause? The help I need: Symptoms of hydrosalpinxDoctor's answer:
Hello, hydrosalpinx mainly occurs after tubal inflammation or due to adhesions causing self-locking, where the secretory fluid of the mucosal cells accumulates in the lumen. Alternatively, it may result from recurrent tubal inflammation leading to adhesions at the isthmus and fimbriae, causing blockage and forming tubal abscess. When the pus cells in the lumen are digested, hydrosalpinx ultimately forms. It primarily affects fertility, with most cases being discovered after a period of non-breastfeeding cohabitation without pregnancy, followed by thorough examination. Some may also experience symptoms such as mild lower abdominal pain, abdominal heaviness and distension, increased secretions, lower back pain, and continuous increase in menstrual volume.
