Patient's question:
My body has been feeling very weak recently, with little energy, and my daily life has been disrupted. During my menstrual period, there was a significant amount of blood again. In addition to a strong odor in the vagina, it was very painful. The doctor said I have a corpus luteum cyst. What kind of help is needed: What should I do about the corpus luteum cyst?Doctor's answer:
Ovarian cysts can be physiological or pathological. Physiological cysts do not require surgery, while pathological cysts often need surgery for definitive diagnosis and additional treatment. For women of childbearing age, after discovering an ovarian cyst, the next course of action depends on the nature of the cyst. Ultrasound results are very helpful for diagnosis. If MRI indicates that the cyst is anechoic (without echoes) and non-segmented, it is advisable to wait and see for 3 months. After 3 months, a repeat MRI should be performed. If the cyst still exists, surgery should be considered. For other types of cysts, in most cases, they are pathological and surgery is necessary for definitive diagnosis.
