Features: This series of albums selects a portion of Ming and Qing Dynasty calligraphy treasures from the collection of the Rongbaozhai. It includes scripts in various styles such as regular, cursive, clerical, and seal scripts, with most being published for the first time. To facilitate readers in appreciating and understanding the original works, the albums have been edited to showcase the full view of the works, reproduce them in original size, provide close-up enlargements, and include color reproductions of selected works on the cover. These enhancements are beneficial for both practice, creation, and research.
Zhuzhishan (1460–1526) was a renowned calligrapher of the Ming Dynasty. His style name was Xizhe, and his sobriquets included Jishan and Zhizhisheng. He was from Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. Zhuzhishan's small regular script follows the styles of Zhong Yao and Wang Xizhi, with rigorous structure. His cursive and semi-cursive scripts are lively and unrestrained, embodying the spirit of Huai Su and Huang Tingjian. Wen Zhengming, Wang Chong, and Zhuzhishan were the three pillars of the calligraphy scene during that era.
This album is a paper handscroll, measuring 30 cm in height and 448.5 cm in width.
