Features: This book is the final outcome of the China-Europe Legal and Judicial Cooperation Project "Reform of Criminal Procedure Law," led by Professor Chen Weidong. The project was launched on March 27, 2004, and lasted for one year. During this period, it underwent field research, European visits, internal discussions, expert seminars, and other activities, with four revisions made, ultimately forming the "Model Criminal Procedure Code." The book is divided into three parts: provisions, comparative legislative examples, and legislative rationale arguments. The "Model Criminal Procedure Code" is the first criminal procedure code drafted by domestic scholars to date, comprising 8 volumes and 662 articles, with a total of 86,589 words. The word "model" signifies the forward-looking and idealistic nature of this code. Based on a reflection of the various flaws exposed in the reform of the criminal procedure law over the past eight years and drawing on the outstanding achievements of academic research in the field of criminal procedure law over the same period, the "Model Criminal Procedure Code" sets a benchmark for the further reform of the criminal procedure law.
