How to confirm if it is an ectopic pregnancy?

Patient's question:

On November 13th, I took progesterone to regulate my period, and it arrived on the 18th. On December 13th, I had a thorough check-up and found out I was pregnant! The c-color ultrasound showed nothing, but the blood test was positive! What kind of help do you need: I want to ask how many days pregnant am I? Can the c-color ultrasound see it? Could it be an ectopic pregnancy?

Doctor's answer:

On November 18th, your period came, but it was only 25 days until December 13th. It's not unusual for a pelvic ultrasound to not detect a gestational sac in such a short time, and it doesn't necessarily mean an ectopic pregnancy. Generally, a pelvic ultrasound can usually detect a gestational sac around 6 to 7 weeks of pregnancy. If the gestational sac contains a blastocyst and a heartbeat, it can confirm a good intrauterine embryo. Your time is still too short, so if the blood test results are within the normal range for pregnancy, there's no need to worry too much. You can retest in 2 to 3 weeks.
