Since Emperor Sun Quan of Eastern Wu moved the capital to Nanjing in 229 AD, ten dynasties have successively established their capitals here, earning it the name "the capital of ten dynasties." But the charm of Nanjing lies more in its allure and its elegance. Nanjing, with its mountains, waters, city, and forests intertwined, presents magnificent and beautiful scenery. It is a renowned cultural land with "the Forty-Eight Scenic Spots of Jinling." Along the shores of Xuanwu Lake, on the Mochou Pavilion, atop Purple Mountain, and beneath the Yuhua Terrace, there are outstanding figures, a blend of culture and nature, and countless romantic tales, making it a gathering place for cultural enthusiasts and literati. Nanjing is also home to the "Eight Beauties of Qinhuai," each with stories of either allure or sorrow, captivating the imagination.
