Our department has a tradition of professors teaching foundational courses for undergraduates. In the past four years, we have placed greater emphasis on having academic leaders and doctoral supervisors teach undergraduate courses. This textbook is a culmination of the expertise of these scholars in undergraduate teaching. The textbook is primarily of the nature of general theories, specialized theories, general histories, or specialized histories. It is particularly important to note that our department places special emphasis on the teaching of classical philosophical texts in the reform of the undergraduate curriculum and teaching content. Over the past four years, our institution, in collaboration with the Advanced Research Center, has established a Comparative Philosophy program for undergraduates, and together with the School of Liberal Arts, the School of History, and the Advanced Research Center, we have launched a National Studies program for undergraduates.
