Features: This book is based on the "Textbook of Ethnic Percussion Instruments" that I compiled in 1984 and has been expanded and rewritten. This book only states that the content written in the book is Chinese percussion music, not a complete collection of Chinese percussion music. The author has made efforts to make this book both practical and informative. It can be used as a textbook for Chinese percussion music, and the various forms of excellent percussion pieces compiled in it are not only suitable for performances but also provide materials for music composition and theoretical research. Through this book, music workers can learn about the performance characteristics and techniques of Chinese percussion instruments, the structure, texture writing, and gong drum vocabulary of excellent percussion pieces in different styles, as well as their development techniques. Therefore, the book is divided into the following five parts: Part 1: Performance Techniques of Chinese Percussion Instruments
Part 2: Art of Playing the Drum
Part 3: Chinese Percussion Music Notation
Part 4: Exercises and Pieces
Part 5: Collection of Ancient and Modern Percussion Pieces
In terms of selection, the book strives to cover a wide range of topics and retains some of the original notations of the musical genres. This approach may lead to inconsistencies and lack of standardization in the notation styles of the book, but from the perspective of informativeness, introducing diverse notations is beneficial to readers.
