Patient's question:
I have a good friend, and last week I accompanied her for a gynecological examination. The examination revealed a sarcoma in her cervix. The doctor said that this condition has a cause, and in these past few days, I've been feeling a bloated abdomen and discomfort. How can one discover the early symptoms of uterine sarcoma?Doctor's answer:
Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors in the female reproductive system, with a high recurrence rate in women aged 35 to 50. About 20% of women over 35 experience recurrence of uterine fibroids, but most patients are not aware of it due to the small size of the fibroids and the absence of symptoms. Clinically, the reported incidence rate of fibroids is only between 4% and 11%. The main clinical manifestations of uterine sarcoma include: (1) irregular vaginal bleeding, with heavy flow. If the tumor becomes purulent or forms ulcers, it may discharge purulent blood-like or rice-water-like foul-smelling fluid. (2) abdominal mass, which can sometimes be felt by the patient themselves, especially in cases with uterine fibroids, where the mass can rapidly decrease.
