Do uterine fibroids require laparoscopic surgery?

Patient's question:

Patient Age: Menstruation is normal, uterus is anteriorly positioned, morphology is reduced, abnormal, capsule is clear, muscle layer echoes are uniform, one approximately 77×64mm solid mass echo is detected inside, with regular shape, clear boundary, uneven internal arrangement, and unclear endometrial reflection. No masses or inflammation are detected in bilateral adnexa. MRI suggests: Uterine fibroid. What kind of help is needed: How can I undergo laparoscopic surgery with such a condition?

Doctor's answer:

Uterine fibroids, also known as leiomyomas, are a common benign tumor of the female reproductive system. Most are asymptomatic, and a very small number may present with symptoms such as vaginal bleeding, palpable abdominal masses, and symptom control. Pain may occur if the pedicle twists again or in other cases. Multiple uterine fibroids are more common. The exact cause of this condition is unclear, and current treatments include hormone therapy or surgical intervention, with no other ideal therapies available for now. If the fibroids are small, asymptomatic, without complications or degeneration, they pose no health risks.
