Consult about what to do about irregular menstruation

Patient's question:

9 was completely delayed for a whole month, then October finally arrived. After that, in November, it was delayed by 3 days, but it still arrived. However, December was supposed to come around the 23rd or 24th, but it still hasn't arrived yet. What's the problem? What should I do?

Doctor's answer:

Irregularity in the normal menstrual cycle is characterized by the following features:
(1) Menstruation occurring 7 days or more earlier or later than usual is referred to as menstrual prematurity or menstrual delay.
(2) Lack of regularity in the menstrual cycle, either earlier or later, is known as irregular menstrual cycle.
(3) Variations in menstrual volume, either excessive or insufficient, are termed as menorrhagia or hypomenorrhea.
(4) Abnormal changes in color and texture, occurring simultaneously with irregular menstruation and menstrual volume, are considered abnormal.
Many systemic diseases, such as blood disorders, hypertension, liver disease, endocrine disorders, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, reproductive tract infections, and tumors (e.g., ovarian tumors, uterine fibroids), can lead to menstrual disorders.
