How to deal with Candida vulvitis

Patient's question:

On the third of last month, I had a thorough examination and was diagnosed with candidal vulvovaginitis and folliculitis. I was prescribed some medication and took it. Then, on the first of this month, I went for a follow-up examination and was still diagnosed with candidiasis.

Doctor's answer:

If it is only a fungal infection of the external genitalia, this does not require the intake of antifungal drugs. The medication taken is for deep fungal infections. This can be treated with local antifungal medications alone. For example, creams or ointments can be applied to the affected area two to three times a day, alternating use for about a week to solve the problem. Stay cheerful and wish you a speedy recovery!
