Please ask the doctor what symptoms are associated with acute cervicitis?

Patient's question:

When I felt the sharpest pain in my stomach, suddenly this phenomenon occurred. I always felt uncomfortable. Later, I went to the hospital for a thorough examination, and the doctor said it was mostly acute cervicitis. But after treating it for a while, it didn't work. What are the symptoms of acute cervicitis? What are the symptoms of acute cervicitis?

Doctor's answer:

Most patients with acute cervicitis are asymptomatic. Those with symptoms primarily exhibit increased vaginal discharge, which is mucopurulent. Stimulation of the discharge can lead to external genital itching and burning sensation. Additionally, symptoms such as intermenstrual bleeding and postcoital bleeding may occur. If complicated with a urinary tract infection, symptoms like urinary urgency, frequency, and dysuria may appear. If caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection, due to involvement of the paraurethral glands and Bartholin's glands, the urethral orifice and vaginal orifice mucosa may become congested, edematous, and produce thick purulent discharge.
