What is postpartum hemorrhage?

Patient's question:

After the postpartum month, there are 3-4 days of vaginal bleeding each week. The amount is not heavy, the color is bright red with no odor, and there are no discomforts in the body. On December 22, 2005, I was in labor, and on January 21, 2006, I started bleeding. It lasted for three or four days before turning into leukorrhea, and after a few days, the bleeding started again. This has happened repeatedly, and it is now the third time. Each time, the bleeding is slightly less than the previous time. Five days ago, I bled again, and it hasn’t stopped yet. The color is dark red, and the amount is a little more than the last time. I don’t know if there is a problem with the uterus. What kind of help do I need: What is late postpartum hemorrhage?

Doctor's answer:

Acupoint therapy selects the internal genitalia, sympathetic, subcortical, endocrine, Shenmen, liver, kidney, and abdominal points. 2-4 points are selected each time. Sensitive points are identified at the chosen acupoints, and they are rapidly rotated for several minutes. The needles are retained for 20-30 minutes each time, once daily or every other day. Alternatively, implantation needles or pellet needles can be used.
For intradermal needling, Qihai, Ashi, Diji, and Sanyinjiao points are selected. After sterilizing the acupoints, either button-type or grain-type intradermal needles are inserted. The needles are fixed with adhesive tape and left in place for 2 days before being removed.
If the patient is generally healthy but exhibits symptoms such as thirst, restlessness, dark-colored urine, constipation, headache, irritability, bright red menstrual flow, and thick, viscous discharge, it is likely that heat in the blood forces the menstrual blood to surge downward. In self-treatment, deficiency is addressed with tonification, while heat is cleared with cooling methods.
