Features: "Twelve in the nation, one for everyone," such a riddle is clearly designed for the answer of the twelve zodiac signs. It is also hard to find any other cultural phenomenon that has achieved such widespread popularity as the twelve zodiac culture, where everyone feels included. Perhaps many people do not understand what "culture" is, or that the twelve zodiac signs are a folk culture, but almost no one is unfamiliar with the zodiac signs or what their own sign is.
"Zi rat, Chou ox, Yin tiger, Mao rabbit, Chen dragon, Si snake, Wu horse, Wei sheep, Shen monkey, You rooster, Xu dog, Hai pig"—not only has it become a catchy children's rhyme, but even those who are illiterate often count them off on their fingers. Today, as a folk culture that prevails among the people and is more passed down orally, the zodiac culture seems to have transcended class and age, integrating into everyone's life. Have you not seen that during the so-called "year of one's zodiac sign," people of all backgrounds and statuses always add a touch of red to their clothing to ward off evil? And how many people link the zodiac signs to fate, with weddings, funerals, and the birth of children all being influenced by it to some extent. Extreme "zodiac" cases, such as pregnant women opting for an early C-section to ensure their child has a "good zodiac sign," are frequently reported in the news. As the New Year approaches, from the media to the public, the entire nation discusses auspicious signs related to the zodiac.
The zodiac culture is so deeply rooted in people's hearts that as an ancient folk cultural phenomenon, it has become an integral part of Chinese national culture. As publishers who focus on the study and dissemination of traditional Chinese culture, it is our responsibility to provide readers with a book that summarizes, organizes, and showcases the essence, historical heritage, and fundamental composition of this culture. This way, every zodiac sign holder who wishes to learn about it can benefit from it, or those in need of temporary clarification can find answers.
