What are the good treatments for vaginitis?

Patient's question:

My girlfriend got vaginitis and has been looking for a long time, spending a lot of money, but it hasn't gotten better yet. It keeps recurring. How can we make it better?
My girlfriend already had vaginitis before I met her. Because there was a protective membrane, it wasn't serious, but medication wasn't allowed either. So, she could only take medicine and get injections. After a few days, it seemed fine again, but later it recurred and didn't go away. Later, after we had sex, the symptoms became severe. At first, it was pelvic inflammatory disease, and it was caused by mycoplasma infection. After a week of drip treatment, she had an ultrasound check, and it showed no problems. She also tested negative for mycoplasma, and it turned into vaginitis until now.

Doctor's answer:

Hello: Vaginitis is a stubborn condition, but it is curable. If diagnosed as candidal vaginitis, a 2%--4% baking soda solution can be used for daily rinsing of the external genitalia and vagina or for sitz baths, with a 10-day course to alter the pH and create conditions unfavorable for the survival of molds. Then, Nystatin can be used, such as powder, tablets, suppositories, or ointments, inserted into the vagina or applied locally, with a dosage of 10--20 million units per time, once nightly, for a 10--14-day course. The external genitalia can be treated with 3% miconazole ointment for better results. Due to the stubborn nature of the disease and its tendency to recur, local treatment is generally preferred. Oral Nystatin tablets can also be taken, with a dosage of 50--100 million units, three times daily, for a 7--10-day course, followed by a follow-up to confirm three negative results before considering it cured.
