Patient's question:
Gender: FemaleAge: 20
Detailed medical condition and consultation purpose: I have vaginitis, cervical erosion, and three additional conditions. The doctor prescribed me a box of Baofukang Quan. I haven't finished soaking the metronidazole yet.
May I skip soaking the metronidazole and use Jieryin to rinse the vagina instead, then insert the medication? Because I'm afraid it will be troublesome to soak for (around ten to fifteen minutes). Thank you!
First follow-up question: My vaginitis is bacterial vaginosis, and there are no trichomonas, Candida, or Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Is this not an option either?
Second follow-up question: Sorry, I accidentally...
Doctor's answer:
Bacterial Vaginosis Recommendations1. Oral Medication Therapy
a. Metronidazole: It is currently widely agreed to have reliable efficacy. The dosage is 0.2 to 0.4 grams per time, taken 2 to 3 times daily. If the dose is high or to avoid gastrointestinal reactions, vitamin B6 can be added. The course of treatment is 7 to 10 days.
b. Miconazole (Mycostatin): Take 2 tablets per time, 2 times daily, for a total of 3 days.
c. Trimethoprim (Bisactin): It is effective against multiple Gram-positive bacteria and anaerobic bacteria, and has good efficacy in inhibiting their growth, so it can also be chosen. The dosage is 10 tablets taken at once, or 1 to 2 tablets per time, 3 times daily, for a total of 3 days.
2. Local Therapy
Regular vaginal irrigation with vinegar and acidic solutions can improve symptoms and help control the condition. Alternatively, Orins Crystal can be used.
