Is it difficult to improve cervical erosion?

Patient's question:

Doctor, hello! A few days ago, my friends got together, and the close ones reunited. After chatting all day, she found out that she had cervical erosion. She went to many hospitals and tried many Western and Chinese medicines, as well as home remedies, but the results were not good. Regardless of the condition being better or worse, I am very worried about her, so I came to ask her about cervical erosion. Is it difficult to heal on its own? I hope to get a reassuring answer. Thank you very much!!!!

Doctor's answer:

Cervical erosion can be divided into specific and non-specific types based on the cause.
Specific: Refers to infections caused by bacteria. Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Chlamydia trachomatis are the most common pathogens for cervical infections.
Non-specific: The majority are caused by an imbalance in estrogen secretion. For example, many married and childless individuals. Due to long-term exposure to chronic inflammation, fibrosis, and cervical hypertrophy, cervical erosion often accompanies cervical hypertrophy. Later, even if the inflammation heals on its own, cervical hypertrophy may still persist.
