How to use a nipple inversion corrector

Patient's question:

The nipple is flat, the two lines are the same, the doctor recommended using a nipple inversion corrector. I sent you a photo of the nipple with a little bit of blood color, the nipple inversion is severe. How to use the nipple inversion corrector?

Doctor's answer:

A breast pump is very helpful for inverted nipples. Long-term nipple inversion can lead to fragile epidermis, easy cracking, infection, local inflammation, eczema, and in severe cases, breast duct expansion. The following methods can be used:
- Pulling with hands;
- Breast pump therapy: Use the breast pump multiple times to suction the nipple, utilizing its negative pressure to make the nipple protrude;
- Using a nipple corrector to treat flat or inverted nipples. Place the nipple inside the circular plastic cap on the nipple corrector, and use the other hand to pull out the air with a support needle to create a gentle suction. Add a small amount of infant lotion (e.g., petroleum jelly) to stabilize the seal of the nipple corrector and ensure it adheres firmly to the nipple. After removing the nipple, the needle can be merged with the entire nipple corrector.
