What are the symptoms of trichomoniasis?

Patient's question:

Since the birth of my child, I have been increasingly experiencing various gynecological infections. Recently, I feel that my discharge has been increasing, it's sticky and dark yellow, with a pungent odor and itching. I always want to scratch the itch, so I must go to the hospital for a thorough examination. The doctor said this is a symptom caused by trichomoniasis.

Doctor's answer:

Trichomoniasis is characterized by increased vaginal discharge, curd-like vaginal discharge, itching and burning sensation in the external genitalia and vagina, painful urination, frequent redness and swelling around the external genitalia, and various epidermal changes. The mucosa near the labia and clitoris becomes thickened, and the skin surfaces that come into contact with each other are flat and erosive. Patients should always maintain cleanliness and dryness of the external genitalia. Avoid scratching, hot water washing, and soap. During infection, use potassium permanganate solution to perform perineal washing. Underwear should be breathable, loose, and comfortable. Avoid alcohol and spicy or allergenic foods. You can use Jie Er Yin or Fu Yan Jie to wash the vagina, purify it, and then participate in the vagina. Continuous treatment for 7-10 days, 3 times a day.
