Patient's question:
I feel uncomfortable with my breasts. After a thorough examination at the hospital, it was found that there are issues with my breasts. The second breast ultrasound did not show any obvious mass echoes, nor any abnormal blood signals. I want to understand the difference between breast hyperplasia and breast nodules, as well as the condition of the symptoms?Doctor's answer:
A breast nodule is not a disease. Normal women have them in their bodies. However, breast hyperplasia is different. Breast hyperplasia often affects women, including those who may also experience swelling, pain, and other symptoms. Fibrosis is also divided into typical fibrosis and atypical hyperplasia. Typical fibrosis is mostly benign fibrosis. A breast nodule is a degenerative inflammation of the breast tissue's ducts and lobules, along with progressive growth of connective tissue. Modern medicine believes that age, diet, external environment, and generational inheritance factors are the main causes of breast disease. Types include: 1. Mastalgia (breast pain), 2. Lobular hyperplasia, 3. Fibroadenoma or papilloma, 4. Fibrocystic fibrosis or (sclerosing breast disease). Surgical treatment is available.
