What are the causes of pathological corpus luteum cysts

Patient's question:

Recently, my diet hasn't been very regular, and sometimes I haven't been able to rest well, which has caused changes in my body. What is pathological corpus luteum cyst?

Doctor's answer:

Physiological ovarian cysts are mostly non-neoplastic cysts with a diameter of less than 5 centimeters. These cysts are not tumors, and the vast majority are benign, resolving without surgery. However, if the cyst is large, gradually decreasing, or ruptured, surgery may be required. Pathological cysts are divided into two types: one is neoplastic, the most common being serous cystadenoma and mucinous cystadenoma; the other is non-neoplastic, the most common being endometriotic cysts, also known as chocolate cysts.
