Wondering what factors cause breast tenderness?

Patient's question:

Front breast tenderness with a lump that hasn't disappeared. Currently, there are occasional mild tenderness and stinging sensations.
Past treatment history and effectiveness: No history of breast lumps, and no medication has been used so far.
What kind of help is desired: Please ask: Is this mastitis? How should it be treated? (I have given birth to one child and have experienced breastfeeding.)

Doctor's answer:

Hyperplasia of mammary glands accounts for more than 75% of all breast diseases and is the most common type of breast disease, occurring in women of any age after the onset of puberty. The clinical manifestations of this disease are primarily breast lumps and breast pain. Approximately 80% of patients experience breast pain, which is often bilateral but can also be unilateral. The nature of the pain is classified as distending pain, pricking pain, shooting pain, dull pain, or tenderness. The manifestations of breast pain are often unstable and can worsen before menstruation, as well as during emotional changes, fatigue, or weather changes. Breast lumps are the main basis for diagnosing breast disease. Most lumps are multiple, with varying sizes and hardness, ranging from hard to firm. The lumps do not adhere to the skin and often have an irregular surface, with a granular sensation upon palpation. In addition to these symptoms, some patients may experience nipple itching, discharge, and systemic symptoms such as bitter mouth, side rib distension, chest tightness, loss of appetite, and menstrual disorders.
