Patient's question:
Why hasn't my cervix healed yet? I have a lot of leukorrhea, and I haven't been pregnant. What are the causes of cervical infertility?Doctor's answer:
1. Cervical canal dysplasia: Severe dysplasia of the cervical canal makes it appear slender, while moderate dysplasia results in a 1:1 ratio of cervical length to the uterine body, known as the "adolescent-type uterus." Cervical canal dysplasia can lead to insufficient secretion function of the cervical glands.2. Abnormal cervical canal position: Conditions such as chronic pelvic inflammatory disease or endometriosis may cause extreme retroversion, retroflexion, or antiflexion of the uterus, making the external os of the cervix adhere to the anterior fornix. This results in shallowing of the posterior fornix, losing its function as a sperm reservoir, thereby hindering sperm ascent. Additionally, cervical elongation, shortening, or prolapse can also obstruct sperm ascent.
