Patient's question:
My wife has developed breast hyperplasia. She usually wears loose-fitting clothes, but recently she has been experiencing breast tenderness and pain. I want to ask what might have caused the breast hyperplasia? What exactly is breast hyperplasia?Doctor's answer:
Hyperplasia of the breast includes diseases of the breast lobules, most of which are caused by hormonal imbalance leading to hormonal level disorders and excessive fibrosis of breast tissue. After a period of time, the fibrotic breast tissue cannot completely regress, forming hyperplasia of the breast. This condition is a benign fibrosis, primarily characterized by breast tenderness and discomfort, one or more lumps with unclear boundaries that can move quickly. In very few cases, it may be accompanied by nipple inversion or nipple discharge. Diagnosis can be made through breast ultrasound, hormonal flow analysis, and mammography. If the fibrotic mass is large and accompanied by a lump, surgical removal of the lesion may be necessary.
