Patient's question:

General TreatmentActive treatment can eliminate susceptible factors. Maintain external genital hygiene and dryness, and avoid scratching. Avoid spicy and irritating foods, which are very effective. Change underwear frequently and wash them with warm water, ensuring they are not mixed with other clothes to prevent cross-infection.
Altering Vaginal pH
The optimal pH value for Candida growth is 5.5. The weakly acidic environment of the vagina maintains its self-cleaning function, with a normal range of 3.7-4.5. Therefore, using a female care liquid with a pH4 weak acid formula is not only suitable for daily cleaning and maintenance but also inhibits the growth and reproduction of mold during treatment. When using the restroom outdoors, use female hygiene wet wipes to dry the external genital area and maintain dryness to suppress Candida growth.
Medication Therapy
1. Trichomoniasis Vaginitis
Trichomonads exist in folds and cervical glands, as well as in the urethra and intestines. Therefore, both internal and external treatments are necessary.
(1) Oral medication to kill trichomonads, such as metronidazole, 200 mg per dose, three times daily, for 7 days. After treatment, test for trichomonads. If negative, continue treatment for another course after the next menstrual period to consolidate the effect.
(2) Local treatment simultaneously, such as rinsing the vagina with a 0.5%-1% lactic acid or acetic acid solution or a pH4 weak acid-formulated female care liquid, once daily.
2. Candida Vaginitis
For treating Candida vaginitis, use a 2%-3% soda solution to rinse the external genital area, vagina, or take a sit bath. After gently drying, place Jiaoyan gel disinfectant deep into the vagina, or apply nystatin cream to the vaginal walls, once daily or twice daily (morning and evening), for 10-14 days. For example: Shuyin Qumei San, a pure Chinese herbal preparation. First, pour the herbal powder into a wooden basin, then add an appropriate amount of boiling water and steam it to allow the medicinal properties to penetrate directly into the vagina. After the liquid cools slightly, apply it to the affected area. Steam bathing should be done twice daily (morning and evening).
3. Non-Specific Vaginitis
The first-choice medication is metronidazole, 500 mg per dose, twice daily, for 7 days. Local medication can also be used, 200 mg per dose, inserted into the vagina, with 7 days constituting one course. Clindamycin 300 mg, taken orally twice daily, for 7 days; or use Jiaoyan gel disinfectant internally in the vagina, once daily, for 7 days.
4. Atrophic Vaginitis
For treating atrophic vaginitis, local medication in the vagina can be used, such as rinsing the vagina with a 1% lactic acid or acetic acid solution or a pH4 weak acid-formulated female care liquid, once daily, to increase vaginal acidity. For more severe inflammation, estrogen therapy can be supplemented. Estriol 0.125-0.25 mg, placed in the vagina once daily, with 7 days constituting one course.
