When can you get pregnant

Patient's question:

Can I get pregnant on the 24th of this month when I ovulate? I have been taking folic acid.

Doctor's answer:

Sperm and seminal fluid can produce antibodies against their own sperm in the body, leading to male infertility. Ejected sperm undergo self-agglutination and fail to penetrate the cervical mucus. A lack of sexual knowledge between partners, excessive anxiety, or mental stress can also cause infertility. Additionally, semen contains various proteins that act as antigens, triggering immune responses in the female reproductive tract. This results in the production of antibodies in the female bloodstream or localized in the reproductive tract, causing agglutination or immobilization of sperm, which adversely affects sperm. This immune response can be reversed after using condoms for a period, leading to the disappearance of antibodies and subsequent pregnancy.
