Features: The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon is composed of Suwen and Lingshu, and is one of the earliest medical classics in China, believed to have been written during the Warring States and Western Han periods. It comprehensively reflects the medical achievements of ancient China, established the theoretical system of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), laid the foundation for the development of TCM, and has continuously guided its progress. Even today, it remains of great research value. Lingshu consists of 12 volumes and 81 chapters, covering a wide range of topics. Guided by the holistic concept and based on the theory of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements, it provides a detailed discussion on human physiology, pathology, diagnosis, treatment, and health preservation. It thoroughly elaborates on the five zang organs, six fu organs, spiritual energy, blood, body fluids, and human temperament types, making it a treasure trove of fundamental TCM theories. Particularly noteworthy is the detailed recording of meridian and acupoint theory and acupuncture methods. For example, the text not only emphasizes the importance of mental focus and Qi detection but also introduces dozens of acupuncture techniques. It also provides a thorough explanation of acupuncture tools, acupoint selection, depth of insertion, contraindications, and the relationship between acupuncture and the four seasons, laying a solid foundation for the development of acupuncture in later generations. Due to its early publication and the transmission through handwritten copies and reprints over the centuries, errors, omissions, and distortions have occurred, making it difficult for scholars to accurately restore the original text. However, due to the limitations of the era and personal interpretations, many unresolved issues remain, which can pose challenges for readers and researchers. To address this, the book has been thoroughly revised and edited, using the 1963 lead-printed edition from the People's Health Publishing House as the base text. An index of important terms is appended at the end for the convenience of readers.
