Features: Books are spiritual products, and naturally, they should be the result of spiritual exploration. Human spiritual exploration is always driven and supported by certain inner pursuits. The concrete book presented to readers is merely an external manifestation of these inner pursuits. It is undeniable that the degree of freedom in pursuing inner aspirations varies when writing different types of books. Let alone literary and artistic genres, even academic works that construct theoretical systems and paradigms give authors considerable scope for extending their thoughts. In contrast, textbooks like Fundamentals of Management are subject to more and greater constraints. Textbooks can also allow for the author's spiritual exploration, but the force of regulation on the author's object of discourse is stronger. Based on an understanding of the characteristics of this object-discourse force, this book has made an effort toward the "Three Appropriatenesses." First is adequacy, meaning the chapter structure and volume should align with the teaching hours allocated by universities for this course, leaving room for teachers to expand during lectures and for students to explore related knowledge outside class. Second is appropriateness, meaning it should suit the characteristics of management studies and the needs of students. Third is adaptability, meaning it should adapt to the contemporary development trends of the management discipline. From the perspective of a textbook, its scope is always limited. To grasp nearly limitless content within a limited space, the authors must inevitably make selections and omissions. The approach of this textbook in handling this relationship is to strive for both systematization and contemporaneity, aiming to reflect the systematic nature of management theory while showcasing the latest achievements in the discipline's development. The intention behind the above "Three Appropriatenesses" is essentially to say that textbooks should be as closely aligned as possible with teaching characteristics and disciplinary characteristics.
